Ashtanga Yoga - Mysore Style

Students are taught individually within a group setting. The first session will last 30-40mins, gradually increasing to an hour or more. Suitable for all levels including complete beginners. Students can attend at any time during the specified time period. We recommend students attend a miminim of three Mysore classes a week. Drop-ins not accepted except for out-of-town students.

Nea is a KPJAYI level II authorised teacher of Ashtanga Yoga and has been teaching Ashtanga Yoga for ten years. She has made eleven individual trips since 2006 to study at the Ashtanga Yoga Institute (KPJAYI) in Mysore. She was authorised in 2010 and during that year was one of the first people to assist Sharath Jois in the morning classes. She has attended two teacher courses through KPJAYI in 2010 and 2014. These courses are designed specifically for authorized/certified teachers to help them better understand the method of Ashtanga Yoga and how to teach appropriately.

Nea has been teaching yoga internationally for the last ten years. She started the first Mysore program in Nagoya Japan where she lived for two years from 2009-10. She has also taught in her home city of Sydney at Jois Yoga (2010-11) and has been a visiting guest teacher at Ashtanga Yoga shalas in Perth, Beijing, Tokyo, Osaka, Moscow, and Istanbul. She moved to Dubai in 2012 and founded Ashtanga Yoga Dubai in 2013?

A perfectly balanced 60 - minute class of strength and flexibility. This empowering and results focused class combines Pilates, yoga, ballet, and core strengthening to target all the major muscle groups. We isolate and tone the arms, legs, glutes and abdominals by using a ball, barre, strap, mat and small hand weights. Our supportive instructors focus on proper alignment and form to help each of our clients look and feel their best.

Ivy was born in New York and raised in London. After graduating from Dance college in 2008 with a 3 year Diploma in performing arts she spent many years traveling the world in various shows and performing with a commercial company. Ivy moved to Dubai in 2015 to further her career and soon fell in love with barre and become a full time instructor. Realizing her newly found passion in group fitness, she has progressed even further and added Cycling and Hammock Yoga to her repertoire. Bikram Yoga

Bikram Yoga is not just a normal yoga routine but a form of living which is rapidly gaining significance across the world. It involves a unique combination of yoga postures and breathing exercises. The hatha yoga postures which are 26 in total and known as Asanas combined with the breathing exercises or pranayamas create the Bikram Yoga Routine. It is generally performed in controlled room conditions of 40 degree Celsius temperature and an average humidity of 40%. Transcending across all ages and physical capabilities, it comes across as a routine which brings the body to a naturally healthy state of existence. The 90-minute routine meticulously brings each minute part of the body to a higher state of existence by energizing it and sending oxygenated blood to it. In short, it acts as nature’s own self-invigorating method to rediscover oneself physically as well as mentally.

It is routinely designed to combat immunity loss, prevent injury, promote weight loss and limit aging effects. Also, the various asanas require one to join the skills of concentration, patience, determination, and self-control, thus effectively raising our inner being to a higher level of mental clarity and reduced stress. The class eventually makes one feel cleansed and energized. Bikram Yoga works towards building strength, flexibility, serenity, balance, and endurance to both body and mind.
